At 10:16 a.m., officers were investigating a report of a suspect driving a white van who was attempting to take cooking oil from businesses, Mount Olive police said.

Officers located a van matching the description behind Frank’s Pizza at the Mall at 206, police said.

The driver of the van, later identified as Nyreek Loyal, was actively pumping oil from the tank belonging to Frank’s Pizza, police said. Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop of the van as the driver attempted to drive away, police said.

Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that Loyal did not have permission to take the cooking oil, police said.
